[47]***A strange entry in the Donkey Kong game series. Graphics are nice and it is a playable game, but it ultimately lacks variety and does not have the kind of "evergreen" status like the original Donkey Kong.***Based on the third game in the enormously popular arcade series, Donkey Kong 3 introduces an exterminator named Stanley as he desperately tries to protect the flowers in his greenhouse from Donkey Kong. Armed only with a can of bug spray, Stanley must force Donkey Kong higher and higher into the greenhouse rafters until Donkey Kong is off the screen and the next stage is reached. Not surprisingly, Donkey Kong isn't going to move without a fight, so he sends wave after wave of bugs, bees and other creatures toward Stanley. Not only must Stanley repel the insects in order to save the flowers, but he'll also have to keep an eye out for projectiles thrown by Donkey Kong himself. If Stanley is good enough, he'll be able to grab a can of more powerful bug spray and really get Donkey Kong moving. It all adds up to frantic fun that anyone can enjoy.

Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde  Toho;Bandai (Advance Communication Company)1988 ♫mendelssohnwedding 19thcentury birds book britain cemetery consoleclassix dogs domesticcats drjekyllandmrhyde england insects monsters multipleendings spiders "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hide" is often regarded to be one of the worst NES games ever. While I agree that it is really bad I must also admit that I have seen worse games. The concept of the game is unusual. You main task is to get Dr. Jekyll to his wedding. Once you die as Dr. Jekyll the game switches to Mr. Hide into a mirrored nightmarish version of the level. In the Mr. Hide part yo Neeu have to kill enough creatures to get enough power to switch back to Dr. Jekyll. The special thing or problem about this is the fact that once you reach the place with Mr. Hide where Dr. Jekyll died, he will die as well and the game is over. The concept does not work well but was worth a try. The graphics, especially the background graphics are also not too bad. What makes this game bad is the frustrating difficulty level, especially of the Dr. Jekyll part. Controls are bad and when you are hit you suffer a huge knockback. So playability stinks, but as I said at the beginning that was the case with quite some more NES games as well.***"Houma ga Toki" is used in official documentation.

Bird Week  Toshiba EMI (Lenar)1986 animalprotagonist biologicalsimulation birdprotagonist birds butterflies femaleprotagonist fungus-mushrooms insects instantdeath lifesimulation nohumans score vgpocketmini worms Bird Week is a simple, cute action game where you control a mother bird and have to collect butterflies/insects to feed your baby birds until they are ready to leave the nest. Also avoid numerous predators that try to catch you. The simple gameplay is accompanied by below average graphics and rather annoying music and clearly aimed at kids. Wikipedia categorizes this game amongst "biological simulations", but I think that is really far-fetched. You can't influence development of anything at all.***As a mother bird, you must gather worms and insects to feed your chicks. The won't eat until they're hungry. They die of hunger fairly quickly after demanding to eat. You can only carry one bite at a time. You have two or more chicks. Watch out for predators who are after you as you go hunting for your own prey.
Originally published by Toshiba-EMI. The VG Pocket Mini version is titled Worm Catcher.
